Dear Friends in Christ,
I pray that you are well and thriving! There are always plenty of challenges in life, and there are always opportunities to thrive in the midst of life. God came to us in Jesus to live through these challenges, and to give his Holy Spirit to us that we might have life in its fullest. The beginning of school this week reminds us of how we all can learn and grow. As Christians, we can learn and grow together, building each other up into “the full stature of Christ” as Paul wrote. This takes both roots that sink deeper into our relationship with God, and aspirations that call us beyond where we are.
How will you grow deeper in Christ this fall? How will you grow more “into the full stature of Christ” in the days ahead? I’ll be meeting with parents of young kids in my Sunday School class this year, discussing how we can grow as Christian families. Other classes and Bible studies and small groups offer the opportunity to learn, to question, to pray together and learn from each other, and to see more and more clearly God’s presence and action in our lives. How are you looking for God? How are you helping others find God?
Come, let us build up the body of Christ together, growing deeper in Christ.
