Position Description: Nursery Worker at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter & St. Paul (9/10/19)

Summary: Nursery Workers provide care for infants and toddlers in the church nursery on Sunday mornings (currently 9AM – noon), and other occasions as assigned. Nursery Workers report to the Director of Children’s Ministry. At least one other adult is present for all nursery work, usually other Nursery Workers, sometimes trained volunteers. This is a part time, hourly position and does not include benefits. The hourly rate is $14.50 per hour.

Basic Responsibilities include:  Age appropriate care for infants and toddlers through age 4, including feeding, changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, maintaining a safe and clean environment (including cleaning toys), and interacting with children through play, prayer and reading stories, Properly documenting check-in and check-out of children, including notes of special needs,  Communicating with parents to understand children’s needs and parent’s expectations of care, and responding appropriately,  Communicating regularly with the Director of Children’s Ministry regarding the needs of the children, parents and the nursery program,  Supports our Mission, ministry, staff (clergy and lay) and lay leaders in all interactions and favorably represents our ministries to the parish and the public. Communicates positively with the parish and our guests,  Complying fully with church policies, especially Safeguarding God’s Children, Arriving 15 minutes before the nursery opens; staying until all children have been picked up by designated adult. Regular work hours are currently Sunday: 9AM – 12:00PM.  Special service hours (with notification well in advance) include 2:30 – 6:30PM Christmas Eve, extra hours Easter morning, Ash Wednesday evening, Holy Thursday evening, and other special occasions, as available.

Position Description: Financial Administrator at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter & St. Paul (9/12/2019)

Summary: The Financial Administrator is a part time position, regularly scheduled for 25 hours weekly, reporting to the Parish Administrator (under the oversight of the Rector (senior pastor)), working closely with the appointed volunteer Treasurer in implementing financial decisions. The Financial Administrator provides routine accounting and record keeping functions and participates in staff support.
St. Peter and St. Paul is an Episcopal parish in suburban Atlanta, with ~1000 active members, with average weekend attendance of 360 people (from three services), an operating budget of over $1M, and non-operating transactions for pass-through, capital and restricted income and expenses.
Our Mission is Growing Disciples of Jesus Christ. The Financial Administrator supports this mission by supporting staff, leaders and parishioners, helping us to be good stewards of our financial resources.

Basic responsibilities:
• Supports our Mission, ministry, staff (clergy and lay), lay leaders and parishioners in all interactions and favorably represents our ministries to the parish and the public.
• Performs routine accounting functions, including:
o Maintenance of the General Ledger,
o Preparation of data for financial reporting and analysis,
o Responsible for accounts payable (including expense reimbursements) and contributions processing,
o Provides monthly and annual reports to church leaders,
o Provides other reports as needed,
• Coordinates records for employee benefits and payroll,
• Attends weekly staff meetings and communicates actively with other staff and lay leaders
• Follows and enforces parish procedures, policies and controls as established by church leadership.
• Assists auditors in the annual audit,
• Supports the staff as part of the administrative team, helping maintain parishioner database, answering calls and assisting in tasks during busy times,
• Interacts with staff, lay leaders, parish members and the public with courtesy, direct communication and healthy boundaries, while maintaining confidentiality of records and personal information,
• Conducts all work on site.

• Minimum of two years of similar accounting experience and at least a high school diploma; college level accounting coursework preferred,
• Demonstrates proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications (experience with ACS database software preferred),

Compensation and benefits:
• The position is part time: 25 hours weekly, with salary and partial benefits (which currently include a 403(b) retirement benefit with matching, and the ability to purchase health insurance through the church plan at full rates),
• Four weeks of paid vacation, and additional paid holidays,
• Annual salary range is $31,000 – 35,000, depending upon training, experience and demonstrated abilities.

Position Description: Administrative Assistant at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter & St. Paul (9/18/19)

Summary: We seek a qualified person to serve as Administrative Assistant, part time (20 hours per week). This person will use interpersonal and administrative skills to support the staff (lay and clergy) and lay leaders of the church in their exercise of ministry, primarily in handling paperwork and parish communication, including answering phones, preparing weekly bulletins, updating websites and social media, preparing fliers and parish email newsletters, maintaining records and supporting the staff in other administrative needs.

Basic Responsibilities:
• Supports our Mission, ministry, staff (clergy and lay) and lay leaders in all interactions and favorably represents our ministries to the parish and the public.
• Reports to the Parish Administrator, under the oversight of the Rector (Senior Pastor).
• Maintains the church website and updates with the church’s weekly sermons and events. Prepares weekly worship bulletin. Produces print and electronic promotional materials. Manages social media accounts.
• Performs daily office tasks, maintains records, communicates with parish through all forms of media.
• As receptionist meets the public tactfully and courteously – directs calls or inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Keeps appropriate confidentiality about parish business and others’ personal. information. Engages staff, parishioners and public with courtesy, direct communication, and healthy boundaries.
• Requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude for these and other tasks as assigned.
• All work to be completed on site.
• Acts as a good steward of church finances.
• Performance to be reviewed annually.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years of administrative front office experience and at least a high school diploma.
• Demonstrates high standards of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality and courtesy.
• Is flexible and able to plan, organize and complete assignments with a minimum of direction, often juggling more than one project and task at a time.
• Highly proficient and effective with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Preferred candidates will also have working knowledge of WordPress (Avada), Constant Contact, Mailchimp, InDesign, Photoshop and ACS.
• Exceptional candidates will also have demonstrated experience in graphic design, website design and management, and communications planning.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• All new employees must be cleared through the Rector and appropriate background checks completed.
